Electrical QA/QC - Piedra Solar (Contract)

This role is ideal for a driven, detail-oriented Electrical QA/QC professional passionate about ensuring our projects meet the highest technical and safety standards. You will play a critical role in large-scale solar and storage projects, contributing to the energy transition and powering communities with clean energy.

This position is based at our Piedra Solar site in Teague, TX, and involves overseeing all electrical quality aspects of utility-scale solar PV projects from construction through commissioning and final handover to Operations.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Total Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policy and ensure third-party compliance with HSE standards.
• Maintain and implement the project’s quality plan, monitoring and managing deficiencies to completion.
• Perform quality reports and oversee documentation of QC activities.
• Ensure compliance with the quality plan and complete Quality Inspections for Electrical installations using the Vyn Digital System.
• Conduct equipment Receiving Inspections for main power transformers and inverter/transformer skids using the Vyn Digital System.
• Verify completion documentation required by contract has been provided by contractors.
• Manage nonconformities related to electrical installations, identifying resolutions and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
• Schedule, manage, and attend meetings related to Quality issues.
• Distribute relevant QC documentation to site contractors and verify the accuracy of contractor work.
• Ensure quality-related site activities comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Review contractual specifications for materials with Construction and Procurement departments.
• Collaborate with the owner’s engineer to review design drawings and engineering deliverables from EPC contractors.
• Conduct on-site inspections and coordinate with third-party independent engineering for project quality control.
• Manage the collection, organization, and filing of all project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in developing internal operating policies, standards, and procedures.
• Act as an Electrical consultant for Electrical work and contribute to weekly and monthly meetings.

Requirements

• Undergraduate associate’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in PV and construction QA/QC.
• Familiarity with photovoltaic solar design and technical standards.
• Good knowledge of electrical work for PV Solar, BESS, and Substations (Medium and High Voltage).
• Knowledge of the latest codes and standards.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, CPM scheduling, Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing project plans and executive-level reporting under time pressure.
• Intermediate-level Microsoft Office skills.
• Energy storage knowledge is a plus.
• US work permit.
