Electrical Project Scheduler
About the role
This is a key position in the day-to-day operations of the Amteck offices located in South Carolina. We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Project Scheduler to develop, monitor, and update project schedules ensuring timely completion of construction projects. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to maintain accurate and realistic timelines.
The position reports to the Executive Vice President associated with the South Carolina region and primarily focuses on the Core Electric projects bid and/or executed out of any of the South Carolina offices, while also supporting designated Service departments and/or projects. Eventually, this individual might grow to support projects bid out of other regions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Integrate cost and resource data into schedules to support project planning and forecasting.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual performance and changes.
- Analyze schedule impacts due to changes in scope, delays, or unforeseen conditions.
- Prepare and present schedule reports, including critical path analysis, earned value metrics, and look-ahead schedules.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment between schedule and execution plans.
- Support claims analysis and dispute resolution with time-impact analysis and forensic scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling requirements and company standards.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Construction Management (preferred) or industry-related degree.
- One to three years of related construction experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the electrical construction industry or relevant industry knowledge.
- Ability to investigate and analyze critical situations in a non-emotional manner.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, and problem-solving methodology.
- Strong Excel skills; proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and interpret construction schedules.
