Key Responsibilities
- Maintains a positive professional relationship with all contractors and equipment manufacturers.
- Ensures that the Plant Policies, Procedures and Union contracts are administered and followed in a fair and consistent manner.
- Attends and participates in training activities appropriate to the position and incorporates acquired skills and knowledge.
- Identifies the training needs of subordinates, ensures their participation in appropriate training activities, and reinforces subordinate's skill development with coaching, feedback and recognition.
- Identifies potential capital projects and repair jobs, and new projects in their area.
- Safeguards the parts inventory for electrical, instrumentation, computer equipment to meet maintenance needs.
- Directs the electronic, electrical and PLC/HMI function to maintain maximum operating efficiencies to meet minimal downtime, quality, volume, grade, yield, safety performance and cost control.
- Provides technical support to ensure the Floor level controls, SCADA and other information systems provide the necessary information to operate efficiently.
- Collaborates with operations and maintenance personnel to ensure that all plant systems are operating efficiently within their limits.
- Is accountable for the electrical, instrumentation, computer portion of the maintenance budget.
Requirements
- Typical Education: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Instrumentation (2-year program), or Electronics coursework/degree combined with the standard education requirements.
- Required Certifications: Journeyman Electrician License from the State of Idaho or a State with reciprocity such as, Oregon, Colorado, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wyoming.
- Relevant Experience: 3+ years related experience and/or training, previous experience supervising teams or direct reports, previous experience and/or training in Programmable Logic Controller, Human machine Interfaces, Instrumentation (4-20 ma loops, 110 V AC, 24V DC, analog) and network communications; read and understand single line schematics and drawings, previous experience with Medium Volt power distribution.
