Electrical Controls Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Work with the electrical team at the facility and help maintain and improve PLC and other automation control systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in a safe and reliable manner.
• Train and impart knowledge to mill personnel to bring their skill levels up to match the systems now in place.
• Engage and work with mill-level personnel to understand their needs and deliver the required help effectively.
• Manage and develop the electrical team.
• Recognize and drive opportunities for improvement, helping local mill management see the same.
• Aid the mill in implementing these improvements.
• Assist with project planning, startups, and helping the mill meet/exceed ramp expectations.
• Work with vendors to help the mill move beyond their expertise and maximize uptime.
• Be willing to work flexible hours based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Previous industrial experience.
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley products, VFD drives, soft starters, and HMIs.
• Experience with PLC 5 and Control Logix PLC platforms.
• Experience with communication network protocols: Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet.
• Proficiency in computer and Microsoft Office software packages.
• Experience working with high and low voltages.
• Supervisor abilities.
• Experience managing small projects and day-to-day work planning.
• Good track record with troubleshooting skills.
• Safe work record.
