Electrical Power Engineer

About the role

The Level 4 Power Systems Engineer is a senior technical professional responsible for designing, analyzing, integrating, and validating complex electrical power architectures for radar systems. Key duties include leading technical efforts, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure power solutions meet performance, reliability, safety, and cost objectives throughout the system lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 9+ years of experience or 7+ with a master’s degree
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance

Skills

• Expertise in high-power electrical systems (100 kW+), including AC/DC, DC/DC converters, and inverter/rectifier systems
• Experience with AC/DC power distribution, generation, conversion, and energy storage design
• Proficiency in qualifying electrical products to military standards MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-1399
• Skill in analyzing and translating system requirements for proposals and power architecture development
