Electrical/Power Engineer

Responsibilities

• Builds and configures countermeasures to ensure proper functionality and operation
• Manages hardware and software configuration changes to ensure interoperability of highly technical equipment
• Provides technical support for all phases of countermeasures systems—pre-installation, installation, and post-installation
• Coordinates all reporting, including pre- and post-trip technical reports and summaries
• Assists in the evaluation and development of new countermeasure systems and test equipment
• Documents capabilities, identifies potential limitations, and makes recommendations for improvement
• Supports the training of Department of State personnel in the maintenance, installation, and operation of specific countermeasures
• Conducts independent research on emerging technologies, as well as laboratory or field testing with minimal oversight
• Assists in the drafting and review of technical security policies and operational guidelines
• Gathers information on new technologies
• Participates in project design and review meetings
• Writes detailed reports
• Assists with the generation of user manuals and other documentation
• Drafts surveys for new installations
• Coordinates travel and site support
• Assists with equipment upgrades, repairs, and replacements
• Provides user training on multiple systems

• Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical and electromechanical schematics
