Key Responsibilities
- Performs all maintenance activities with a strong safety-first mindset, ensuring strict compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations along with site specific safety standards; actively identifies and mitigates observed hazards, conducts regular safety inspections of assigned areas, and fosters a culture where safe work practices and personal accountability are non-negotiable. Champions site safety standards and promote open communication within group.
- Develop detailed job plans for electrical maintenance, breakdowns, shutdowns, and capital projects, including work scopes, task sequencing, labor hours, equipment, and tooling requirements
- Create and maintain weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance schedules in coordination with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Plan and support maintenance activities for high- and low-voltage electrical systems, including substations, switchgear, motors, drives, MCCs, power distribution systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and control systems
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and OEM documentation to ensure accurate and safe job planning
- Ensure maintenance strategies align with OEM recommendations, site standards, and reliability best practices
- Identify, source, and ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and consumables prior to work execution
- Maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs), asset registers, and job libraries within the CMMS (SAP)
- Ensure all planned work complies with federal, state and company safety regulations, electrical codes, and site procedures
- Incorporate lockout/tagout (LOTO), isolation, permitting, and risk controls into job plans
- Participate in risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and hazard identification processes
- Develop maintenance cost estimates and track planned versus actual costs
- Analyze work order history and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities
- Support reliability, continuous improvement, and maintenance optimization initiatives
- Create, manage, and close work orders in the CMMS and provide reporting on schedule compliance, backlog, and maintenance KPIs
- Maintain accurate planning documentation and provide clear communication to stakeholders and execution teams
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance planning within a mining, chemical or heavy industrial environment
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, electrical safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and scheduling
- Proficiency in CMMS software, preferably SAP
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Proven ability to coordinate effectively with operations, engineering, maintenance teams, and external vendors
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a safety-first work culture
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
