Job Summary
Aids in maintaining County-owned buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety and a healthy environment.
Abilities, Knowledge and Skills
- Follows both verbal and written directions
- Reads and follows instructions to operate equipment
- Has considerable knowledge of electrical systems and components
- Has at least 4 years of experience working on electrical systems
- Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license
- Has access to reliable transportation
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Repairs and maintains plumbing, heating, electrical, and air conditioning systems in county-owned buildings
- Maintains landscaping
- Performs custodial work as needed
- Maintains sidewalks, including snow and ice removal
- Maintains the exterior of buildings
- Paints and reconditions offices
- Maintains daily work records
- Operates power equipment
Qualifications / Experience
- High school graduate or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Licensed Electrician preferred with 4 years experience
Other Requirements
- Employment contingent upon background check, criminal history, and drug screen
- Applicant must complete County application form
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No direct reports
- No delegation of work
- No supervision given
- Reports to the Buildings and Grounds Director
Work Location and Physical Demands
- Ability to lift/carry up to and in excess of 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, crouch, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors and under somewhat adverse conditions
