About the role
Electrical Maintenance Technician at IKO Glass Fiber Inc., Chester, SC, within the Maintenance department. Full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address potential problems.
- Conduct repairs and replacements of electrical components and systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Install and upgrade electrical systems and equipment as needed.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and other technicians to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical components.
- Ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory standards.
- Diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Identify the root cause of electrical malfunctions and develop effective repair solutions.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints to locate and rectify issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions and equipment breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electrical maintenance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle complex assignments with a proactive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls when necessary.
- Organized, self-starter, results-oriented, and a unique problem solver.
Work authorizations and travel
Minimal travel. I-9 verification and background and drug test required.
