About the role
This fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility operates two paper machines along with multiple process lines including wood handling, pulping and OCC, power and recovery, sheeting operations, and effluent treatment. The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor leads an electrical and instrumentation maintenance crew of approximately 10 hourly team members supporting one of the mill's operating areas, working in partnership with the area mechanical team to ensure reliable equipment operation. This role reports to the Area Maintenance Manager.
Schedule
Full time, with rotating participation on a weekend duty team for the maintenance department.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct the electrical and instrumentation team in a goal-oriented environment focused on safety, engagement, and reliability excellence.
- Manage team compliance with company and mill policies and procedures.
- Approve pay and vacation scheduling, complete administrative tasks consistent with the labor agreement and mill policy.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with employees to provide and receive guidance and development feedback.
- Identify individual and organizational training needs, implement training plans covering both technical and soft skills.
- Coordinate with operations to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with the Area Maintenance Manager and other mill areas to share maintenance resources mill-wide.
- Implement and sustain 5S, manage available resources daily through efficient planning and scheduling.
- Respond to off-shift and off-day maintenance issues.
- Maintain team time and attendance and performance records.
- Communicate with operations through daily and weekly planning meetings.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, support solution implementation.
- Serve as contractor coordinator for vendor resources when needed.
- Complete responsibilities aligned with company reliability systems such as RCFA, PM/PdM, and Precision Maintenance.
- Improve or implement new work systems to sustain progress and positive results.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2 to 7 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in electrical maintenance or paper industry operations.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Maintenance experience in a pulp and paper facility.
- Ability to manage and lead multiple projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications and SAP PM.
- PLC knowledge and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley and ABB drive systems.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented approach to team leadership.
- Active learner with a demonstrated ability to develop direct reports.
Pay
$95,000 to $130,000 per year, based on experience.
