Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical, controls, and automated production equipment.
• Diagnose issues involving PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, motor controls, sensors, and safety systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and OEM documentation.
• Install and wire electrical equipment, conduit, motors, and control components.
• Troubleshoot 480V three-phase electrical systems, MCCs, transformers, relays, contactors, and AC/DC motors.
• Support equipment upgrades, automation improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with mechanical systems including conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and gearboxes when needed.
• Document completed repairs and communicate equipment conditions with maintenance and production teams.
• Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.

Requirements

1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

• 7+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, automation systems, and industrial controls.
• Strong experience diagnosing and repairing 480V three-phase equipment and motor control systems.
• Ability to serve as the primary electrical resource on the production floor.

3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, MCCs, HMIs, motors, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to production-critical equipment failures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in steel processing, metals manufacturing, stamping, or other heavy industrial environments.
• Industrial electrical apprenticeship, technical school, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and systematic troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation, parts lookup, and reporting.
