Major Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in various settings.
- Ensure compliance with local and national electrical codes.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
- Upgrade existing electrical systems to meet current safety and efficiency standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute installations.
- Assist electricians as needed during installation and repair tasks.
- Coordinate with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to complete projects on time and within budget.
Requirements
- Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
- Must have Journeyman certification.
- Must have the minimum required tool set acquired within 90 days of employment.
- Must be willing and able to work in all seasons and conditions throughout the year and may be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
- Must have 5+ years’ experience in construction or a related field (but must have solid working knowledge of commercial and residential electrical systems).
- Must be able to pass pre-employment tests (background and drug screen).
- Must be able to demonstrate attention to safety.
- Must have effective time management skills.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving records to be insurable.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to work extended and varied shifts as required.
- Must be able to climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, kneel frequently, and stand for long periods.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and work with heights.
