About the role

The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for performing skilled, journeyman-level electrical work related to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial electrical systems. Work is performed independently or as part of a crew while adhering to all applicable safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble, modify, and repair electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, panels, switchgear, and electrical components used in commercial applications
  • Perform journeyman-level maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, fixtures, motors, and control devices
  • Troubleshoot electrical system issues, including power failures, control malfunctions, and equipment connectivity problems
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Perform testing and verification of electrical systems using appropriate meters and diagnostic tools
  • Cookordination work with technicians, project managers, and other skilled trades as required
  • Complete assigned service calls and project work in a professional manner that meets customer and company standards
  • Maintain accurate service and project documentation, including notes, test results, and photos
  • Comply with all company policies, jobsite procedures, and applicable electrical and safety codes
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and company vehicle or assigned tools
  • Travel to various job sites as required
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the electrical trade as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with commercial and/or industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards
  • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and time management skills
  • Ability to follow established procedures and detailed work instructions
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and jobsite safety compliance

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • OSHA safety training preferred
  • Valid state driver’s license required and must be maintained
  • Additional electrical certifications or safety training preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, push, and pull
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and handle materials weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Work is performed in commercial and industrial environments, including indoor and outdoor settings
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels, energized equipment, and varying temperatures
