About the Role

MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities, building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants, solar, wind, and thermal energy plants, buildings, and infrastructure. Within the CE&I group, the MasTec Industrial sector includes sister companies Casey Industrial and Phoenix Industrial. This collective industrial group provides a merit shop, multi-craft industrial contractor with the ability to self-perform all major craft trades, ensuring greater safety, quality, flexibility, and economy in delivering projects.

The role involves the installation of electrical systems to project specifications under the direction of an Electrical Journeyman and Foreman. You will contribute to delivering innovative solutions to clients while upholding the highest levels of quality, safety, and value.

Responsibilities

• Install raceway systems to meet project production standards.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks.
• Pull wire through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment as required.
• Install small electrical equipment and supports.
• Attend safety meetings and complete safety paperwork daily.
• Demonstrate safety as a top priority and maintain basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
• Understand basic electrical systems (low and high voltage).
• Learn and adhere to project specifications for electrical system installation.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
• Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.
• Set a personal example of safe behavior on-site.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units of weight, measurement, and volume.
• Follow written or oral instructions and adhere to set procedures and standards.

Requirements

• 2-3 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• NCCER Certification/License (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an electrical helper III role.
• Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations.

Physical Demands

• Work up to a 12-hour shift performing hard physical labor in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
• Maintain physical strength and stamina; use arms, hands, and legs fully.
• Push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb to perform job tasks.
• Perform repetitive tasks continuously for several hours.
• Work in uncontrolled environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and vests.
• Work in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
• Work at heights and comply with all safety and fall-protection requirements.
• Evaluate information based on measurable standards and recognize slight differences in shapes and shadings of objects or drawings.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from drawings.
• Maintain good balance while working at heights.
• See well (naturally or with correction).
• Hear well (naturally or with correction).
• Coordinate the use of eyes, hands, and feet effectively.

Travel

Travel required up to 90%. Position requires presence directly on the project site location with intermittent travel to residence of record.

Pay

$40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
