As an Electrical Helper, the general role is to work in conjunction with Electricians and Electrical Foreman to install, maintain, and repair various electrical components within customer locations. This individual will be exposed to both low and high voltage electrical applications, and work in a wide array of industries including Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Coal, Wind Energy, etc. The Electrical Helper will report to the Electrical Department Manager and will work primarily out of the Farmington location. Assist Electricians and Electrical Foreman with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systemsInstall lighting, electrical outlets and circuit breakersInstall conduit and cable tray systemsTroubleshoot electrical problems under the supervision of a state journeyman electricianEnsure that all work is completed in compliance with relevant codes and standardsMaintain a safe and clean work environmentTravel to various job sites as requiredUtilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment pertinent to the electrical tradeAssist with paperwork and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventoryAssist in other areas of the company and perform other duties as assigned Other Duties This job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required for this position. Successful completion of an Electrical Trade School Program, Instrumentation and Controls Program or at least one year of experience in electrical workBasic understanding of electrical theoryExperience bending conduit, pulling, and terminating wiresAbility to work at heights and in confined spacesAbility to read and interpret electrical schematicsAbility to travel for extended periods of timeStrong communication and interpersonal skillsMust have a valid driver's licenseFlexibility to work a schedule of four weeks on and one week off Working Conditions Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneelSit/stand for extended periods of timeLift and/or move up to 80 poundsWear safety equipment as per OSHA/MSHA requirements Additional Eligibility Qualifications This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
