Electrical Hardware Lead
About the role
The Electrical Hardware Lead at DZYNE Technologies will lead the hardware engineering activities for several UAV platforms. This role will interface closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and test teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of mission-critical capabilities.
Required Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the development of system architectures for a variety of unmanned aerial vehicles.
- Lead the end-to-end electrical hardware development for subsystem components.
- Define system and hardware architectures, including power distribution, RF systems, avionics, sensor interfaces, and compute modules.
- Lead the planning and coordination of system validation activities, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Drive technical decision-making, risk assessment, and trade studies for electrical and embedded hardware designs.
- Guide integration and testing of electrical subsystems, including bench-level validation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and flight-ready qualification.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, GNC, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and platform-level performance.
- Support EMI/EMC testing, environmental qualification, and design for reliability in SWaP-constrained environments.
- Mentor junior engineers, establish hardware development best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement across engineering disciplines.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading complex hardware development efforts and guiding multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong background in digital and analog circuit design, power systems, and embedded hardware.
- Experience with RF systems, radios, or sensing payloads is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools.
- Experience integrating electronics into SWaP-constrained platforms such as UAVs or autonomous systems.
- Experience architecting reliable and redundant robotic systems.
- Familiarity with environmental and EMI/EMC testing standards common to aerospace and defense.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Clearance Level Required
This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.

Less than 10%
Working Conditions
The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities.
Physical Demands
Must have the ability to stop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
Work Authorization Requirement
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
Pay Range
$130,000 - $170,000 annually
