About the role
EPI Power is hiring an electrical General Foreman for a data center project. This is a non-union role.
Responsibilities
- Analyze workers, foresee production problems, and recommend solutions such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans
- Oversee and coordinate the work of the electrical Foreman
- Interpret blueprints, designs, and specifications to ensure electrical systems are installed according to plan
- Implement and maintain a safe workplace program and ensure safety, be responsible for the Safety and Field Labor on the assigned project and review individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance
- Supervise and evaluate the activities of electricians and apprentices
- Advise the supervisor and the construction manager of job progress, material requirements, and personnel matters
- Inspect work for quality and ensure that all work meets customer expectations
- Evaluate job hazards and communicate information to staff verbally and in writing through various venues, including weekly and daily crew meetings
- Advise the Construction Coordinator, Maintenance Supervisor, or PM Supervisor of job progress, material requirements, and personnel matters
- Attend weekly crew safety meetings to ensure all employees are engaged in conversation
- Be knowledgeable of labor units/production units and set attainable goals for the crew
- Track crew members' production to ensure minimum daily installation units are achieved
- Understand specifications and complete Spec aid with Project manager, distribute and make sure the crew Foreman is adequately informed
- Maintain accurate records/progress drawings following client and EPI Power standards
- Use a 2-week planner to outline the crew labor, tools, and material plan, and expect the same from each crew Foreman
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience: A valid Class A or B license from the State of Iowa is preferred
- Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure; ability to make complex cuts not to waste material, and figure out complex forming systems; training and complying with all safety rules, and performing without constant supervision; language skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with customers and co-workers
Physical Demands

- Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Regularly work in outside weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles
- Work in high, precarious places
- Occasionally lift and/or move materials
- Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Exposure to noise level in the work environment is usually loud
- Employee must also be able to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, per the needs of the project (weekends and holidays included)
