Job Summary
The Electrical Foreman is a skilled leadership position responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of electrical crews on commercial and industrial projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Test electrical systems using appropriate tools to determine where issues may be occurring. Oversee safety of the system to ensure compatibility.
- Document actions, testing results, observations, and final diagnosis of the situation and steps taken to resolve issues for each job or situation.
- Determine necessary steps to assess electrical situations and troubleshoot using testing devices, blueprints, and maps.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements. Report all policy violations, procedures, and guidelines to supervisor.
- Use ladders, scaffolding, and lifts to work on electrical systems in commercial properties.
- Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operate or be used safely.
- Maintain and ensure general housekeeping of work areas.
- Be able to bend 1/2" to 4″ conduit.
- Utilize required tools and equipment for each specific task as necessary.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least 4 years leading mission critical projects and electrical teams.
- Develop construction schedules and continually monitor or adjust as needed.
- Ability to contribute to the installation or be able to direct others through the installation and troubleshooting process.
- Ability to coordinate manpower needs and lead cross-functional communications.
- Ability to coordinate or place material orders after competition price comparisons have been completed.
- Maintain compliance with company, state, and OSHA safety standards.
- Strong preference for NCCER, NFPA, or OSHA certifications.
Work Environment
- This position may require travel to various project sites.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
Potential Hazards
- Outside most of the time
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures
- Making manufacturing and refining environment
- Fitting and moving in confined spaces including tanks and vessels
- Limited working surfaces
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights)
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks
- Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following:
- If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.

- Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day
