Electrical Foreman
About the role
This role combines electrical foreman responsibilities with controls leadership and commissioning oversight on complex, engineering-heavy projects. You will play a key role in delivering advanced electrical and controls systems for data centers and other sophisticated facilities, ensuring that all installations, controls, and networks are properly implemented, tested, and commissioned.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical construction activities on engineering-heavy projects, ensuring high-quality installation of power and controls systems.
- Serve as the controls foreman, overseeing the installation, configuration, and integration of building automation and controls systems.
- Act as the electrical commissioning lead, planning and executing commissioning activities for electrical and controls infrastructure.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide field installation and commissioning work.
- Coordinate and supervise field teams involved in electrical, controls, and data center construction to meet project schedules and quality standards.
- Oversee the implementation of controls engineering solutions for advanced systems and data center environments.
- Manage and support the setup of networks and servers required for modern equipment relying on IP communication.
- Perform network troubleshooting and diagnostics to ensure reliable communication between electrical, controls, and automation systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
- Ensure that building automation controls are correctly installed, configured, and tested according to project requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installation, testing, and commissioning activities for electrical and controls systems.
- Promote and follow safe work practices during all phases of electrical and controls construction and commissioning.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an electrical foreman in construction environments with complex, engineering-heavy projects.
- Hands-on background as a controls foreman, leading installation and integration of building automation and controls systems.
- Experience as an electrical commissioning lead, including planning, executing, and documenting commissioning activities.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical/control schematics.
- Practical knowledge of data center construction and advanced systems, including power distribution and controls infrastructure.
- Telecom and network skills, including the ability to navigate computers, set up networks, and configure servers.
- Experience with controls engineering concepts and their application in building automation and data center environments.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting, particularly for IP-based communication between modern equipment and control systems.
- Solid understanding of building automation controls and their integration with electrical and mechanical systems.
Qualifications
- Background working on engineering-heavy projects that involve advanced electrical and controls technologies.
- Experience in data centers or facilities with advanced systems and high-reliability requirements.
- Comfort working with modern IP-based communication technologies and related software tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, construction, and commissioning personnel.
- Strong organizational skills for coordinating multiple workstreams and documenting technical activities.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards and best practices in electrical and controls work.
Work Environment
The role is based in construction and commissioning environments focused on engineering-heavy projects such as data centers and advanced systems facilities. You will work closely with electrical, controls, and networking teams, using modern equipment that relies on IP communication, servers, and networked controls. The environment is fast-paced and technically demanding, with a strong emphasis on precision, reliability, and thorough testing of electrical and automation systems.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
