About the role
This position is located at our Conyers, Ga job site. As assignments vary in duration and locations, you will work in a dynamic environment while contributing to the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities
- Promote safety and work safely around construction hazards.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction activities of crews.
- Thoroughly review contracts, scope documents, drawings, specifications, and shop estimates.
- Study project execution and tracking documents, including project execution plans, safety plans, QA/QC plans, schedules, manpower projections, equipment rental schedules, job cost breakdowns, and subcontracting strategies.
- Maintain site-specific rules and logistic guidelines for break times, smoking rules, shift start/stop times, and food/drink concessions.
- Ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Interface with the Superintendent to adhere to company, client, and project policies.
- Collaborate with project team members to establish and resolve scheduling issues.
- Ensure availability of materials, drawings, manpower, specifications, tools, consumables, and equipment.
- Provide prioritized work instructions to craftsmen and monitor progress.
- Assist with the implementation and interpretation of safety programs.
- Mentor craft personnel for professional development.
- Learn and apply knowledge of local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as directed.
Requirements
- Four years of experience in craft, with at least one year as a Lead or higher in an industrial construction setting.
- Familiarity with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements for industrial projects.
- Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage craft employees.
- Hands-on job foreman experience.
- Completion of safety-related certifications such as OSHA 10 or Safety Council programs as required by company and/or client.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have a locking toolbox and tools necessary to perform the job.
- Must successfully complete all required pre-hire requirements.
Physical/Site Requirements
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas with full range of motion and flexibility.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and outdoor conditions.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Wear required PPE, including footwear, prescription safety glasses or eye shields, and long sleeves.
