About the role
The Bike Shop is seeking a Prototype Electrical Fabrication Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Fabricating electrical hardware from drawings, schematics, 3D models, written notes and verbal instruction.
- Co-developing electronic, electro-optical, electro-mechanical and mechanical assemblies.
- Originating and performing methods to verify, troubleshoot and analyze new hardware.
- Performing electrical layout, construction, modification, testing, adjustment, verification and prove-in of prototype electronic equipment.
- Attending electrical/mechanical engineering drawing peer reviews to provide critical input to translate engineering design specifications into producible prototypes.
- Assessing designs, ensuring producibility, maintainability, safety and reliability.
- Fabricating basic circuits and harnesses to meet quick turn requirements.
- May be required to work inside of a closed or (SCIF) Sensitive Compartment Information Facility area.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or AS/AA degree (or other two year post high school training), with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
- Four (4) or more years of experience fabricating and testing electrical assemblies in two or more of the following areas: cables, wire harnesses, breakout boxes or chassis.
- Previous work experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to work cohesively in a teaming environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering principals and design techniques.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting schematics and drawings to identify producibility issues.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe software, including 3D-PDF.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to use good judgement and to work independently or collaboratively in an engineering environment.
- Associates degree in related field; OR military electronics or avionics training, OR vocational or college program certificate.
- Familiarity with 3D drawings and CAD tools.
- Ability to prioritize work, understanding of schedule and budgets.
- J-STD-001 Solder certification.
- IPC 610 & 620 Acceptability certifications and inspection experience.
- Experience working in an environment where your work is post-build inspected.

Pay
The salary range for this role is 53,100 USD - 100,900 USD.
Schedule
Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite.
