About the role

As an Electrical Technician I at ENFRA, you will handle installations, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will ensure all work is completed within established time frames, adheres to quality standards, and complies with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the shop on time as directed.
  • Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
  • Use and handle tools, equipment, and materials safely and correctly.
  • Organize materials and tools to maintain a clean and neat work area.
  • Erect and understand pulley systems to lift or move heavy objects.
  • Dig trenches using hand tools or equipment.
  • Accurately read labels, job site maps, directions, manuals, and written instructions.
  • Work in a detail-oriented manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Direct and train helpers in proper work practices.
  • Understand and apply Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Visualize completed work prior to installation.
  • Perform accurate layout of electrical systems with code clearances.
  • Install duct banks and understand spacing requirements.
  • Work at heights without fear.
  • Operate scissor and manlifts (experience is a plus).
  • Install panelboards and transformers.
  • Select and use cables properly per NEC guidelines.
  • Perform material take-offs to execute work accurately and timely.
  • Communicate issues and solutions effectively with coworkers and supervision.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in terminations (e.g., aluminum, copper, twisted pair cable, terminating coaxial cable).
  • Understand and comply with company and job safety requirements (OSHA).
  • Ability to give proper hand signals to equipment operators.
  • Knowledge of series circuits, Ohm’s Law, DC circuits, and resistance.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and use electrical formulas accurately.
  • Knowledge of blueprints and shop drawings, including symbol use.
  • Understanding of conduit bending (e.g., concentric bending).
  • Knowledge of switching procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Knowledge of grounding practices, transformer protection/connections, overcurrent protection, parallel circuits, fuse operation, circuit breakers, motors, inductance, capacitance, and power factors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary.

Physical Activities

  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Climbing stairs and moving in various positions, including tight or confined spaces.
  • Repeating motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
  • Noisy environments.
  • Low and high temperatures.
  • Small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands

This role involves medium work, including adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.

Pay

USD $19.01 - USD $25.37 per hour.
