About the role
We’re partnering with a well-established commercial electrical contractor in the Kansas City Metro that has built a strong reputation across complex commercial construction, preconstruction, design-build, underground utilities, data/communications, and specialty electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical construction estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and project scope.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scopes of work.
- Solicit, compare, and qualify pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Price standard and specialty electrical equipment for commercial construction projects.
- Develop assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and risk items for bids.
- Support budgeting, value engineering, conceptual pricing, and preconstruction efforts.
- Maintain historical cost data, estimating files, and pricing information.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and preconstruction leadership to ensure a smooth handoff after award.
- Help the team build competitive, accurate bids that support successful project execution.
Requirements
- 2+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, materials, equipment, and installation methods.
- Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction scopes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but equivalent field/estimating experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Able to manage deadlines, compare pricing, and communicate clearly with internal and external partners.
- Someone who takes ownership, asks good questions, and understands that accurate estimating drives project success.

Pay
$100,000 - $130,000 salary.
