Electrical Engineering Technician

About the role

The Electronics Technician is responsible for building, testing, reworking, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic subsystems in Mizuho OSI products to support R&D Engineering and the development of new products.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently order electrical components, fabricate electrical designs, and rework printed circuit board assemblies.
• Design cable assemblies and cable drawings in AutoCad or similar CAD software.
• Apply a methodical approach to system-level and electrical design concepts.
• Contribute ideas and suggestions for product development.
• Build electrical and electronic assemblies for prototyping and testing surgical table designs, test fixtures, and supporting equipment.
• Test surgical table designs, particularly electronic subsystems, following established test protocols and document results.
• Interpret technical instructions, schematic drawings, component specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting of circuits, boards, and power supplies.
• Collaborate with other functional groups such as New Product Introduction (NPI) teams.
• Understand and align with Mizuho OSI’s business objectives, corporate vision, mission, and values.
• Adhere to Mizuho OSI’s internal Quality System policies, procedures, and work instructions, including external regulations (21 CFR Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable international standards).

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience, with 3-4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read circuit schematics and technical drawings (mechanical, electrical, and electronic).
• Proficiency in soldering, assembling electrical cables and connectors, and performing minor PCBA SMT rework.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electronics and electromechanical systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) or demonstrated comfort with Windows-based programs.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Work Environment

The duties of this job require prolonged standing and manual dexterity to manipulate small objects and hand tools. The employee may need to walk and occasionally lift up to 45 pounds. Close vision is essential for detailed work. The work environment may expose the employee to:

• Sharp objects and small tools.
• Hot objects, adhesives, and UV light.
• Various testing equipment, isopropyl alcohol, soldering equipment, hi-pot testers, and other electrical test equipment.
• Moderate to high noise levels.

Pay

$33.65 - $38.46 hourly, depending on experience, plus annual potential bonus.
