Electrical Engineering Technician

Expected compensation: 47.40 USD Per Hour HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire an Electrical Engineering Technician to build and maintain the physical infrastructure used to validate automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs), autonomy hardware, and related systems. In this role, you’ll design and build wiring harnesses, rack and wire server infrastructure, and assemble Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches. With guidance from design engineers, you’ll own harness builds from design through validation while also supporting the organization, inventory, equipment, and day-to-day operation of the lab. The ideal candidate is a hands-on and highly organized electrical technician with strong wiring harness, rack integration, and hardware troubleshooting experience. You’re comfortable translating engineering documentation into reliable physical builds, working independently in a lab environment, and maintaining the tools, components, and documentation needed to keep testing operations running efficiently. As An Electrical Engineering Technician, You'll Design, build, and validate wiring harnesses for HIL test benches and rack builds, including pinouts, connector and wire selection, termination, and electrical testing. Install and wire compute nodes, network switches, power units, and related test assets while maintaining organized and clearly labeled power and data cabling. Manage day-to-day lab operations, including build kitting, parts and consumables inventory, asset tracking, tool calibration, workspace organization, and ESD and electrical safety practices. Diagnose hardware faults and partner with Test and Validation Engineers to reproduce and troubleshoot issues, escalating complex failures with clear findings. Maintain accurate build documentation, including pinout tables, BOMs, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, revision histories, and known issues.
