About the role

The Prototype Integration team develops various aircraft peripherals and prototype systems such as RF sensors, information processing subsystems, and podded payloads. This position performs or assists in fabrication, modification, assembly, installation, operations, repair, and maintenance of moderately complex assemblies, experimental, and prototype equipment. You will consult on the design of equipment or tests, set up and conduct moderately complex experiments and tests, record and summarize data.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates, assembles, modifies, and installs electronic equipment, experimental assemblies, or commercial hardware of moderate complexity.
  • Utilizes electrical and RF theory to troubleshoot basic circuits and electronic systems.
  • Operates a variety of electronic test equipment.
  • Sets up moderately complex experiments and/or tests; checks out and calibrates equipment prior to experimentation and data acquisition; conducts tests and experiments following operating procedures.
  • Identifies operation or equipment problems and reports deficiencies.
  • Maintains and repairs equipment using basic hand and specialized tools.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Works in both a collaborative and individual capacity.
  • Performs housekeeping and cleanup duties as required.
  • May provide guidance or training to other technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an associate's degree or equivalent with seven or more years of experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Military or technical school training and/or experience in test or experimental operations is highly desirable.
  • Ability and willingness to work on systems which have unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or other hazardous environmental factors.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical theory including AC and DC power.
  • Understanding of wiring harnesses and cable manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required.
  • IPC J-STD soldering and wire harness assembly experience and certifications desired.
  • Must have communication skills necessary to write and record technical information and generate detailed reports.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.

Pay

Hourly salary range: $65,410 - $99,888
