Electrical Engineering Technician

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to support testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of cutting-edge electronic products and systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician with hands-on experience using electrical test equipment and a strong understanding of engineering principles. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering laboratory environment supporting innovative technologies and product development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate electrical test equipment to evaluate product, assembly, and system performance under simulated operating conditions.
- Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on developmental products and prototypes.
- Assemble electrical and electronic systems according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Document test procedures, results, observations, and analysis using Excel spreadsheets and internal reporting tools.
- Troubleshoot and calibrate instruments, test setups, and associated fixtures.
- Analyze test data and provide recommendations for corrective actions or improvements.
- Follow laboratory procedures, safety requirements, operational documents, and work instructions.
- Assist engineering teams with problem resolution before, during, and after product development and testing.
- Maintain accurate records and archive test results for future reference.
- Collaborate with team members and share knowledge of lab procedures and best practices.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology (BSET), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or related technical discipline.
- Experience using electrical test equipment, including:
- Oscilloscopes
- Voltmeters
- Multimeters
- Analyzers
- Electrical probes
- Other data acquisition and testing equipment
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical schematics
- Engineering drawings
- Technical specifications
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Previous experience in an electrical test lab, engineering lab, internship, co-op, or related technical environment.
- Understanding of engineering testing procedures and documentation practices.
- Experience with prototype testing and product validation.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
