About the role

HDR is seeking an Electrical Engineering Leader to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA. This role is part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, where you will help design critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering expertise, supervise, and mentor
  • Responsible for producing electrical systems design for various markets including Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Federal, Resources, Transportation, Health Care, Technology, and Commercial
  • Operate the Northern California BES electrical team, including staff development, workflow and forecasting, proposals and level of effort, scheduling, profitability, morale, and quality control
  • Function as a technical lead on projects in addition to staff management responsibilities
  • Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel
  • Identify and recruit talented staff to enable the electrical section to grow to meet design needs
  • Lead and coordinate services with other disciplines
  • Implement, monitor, and support company policy
  • Assist with administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions
  • Directly involved with clients in project production and related issues
  • Coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects
  • Develop construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations
  • Review shop drawings during construction

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • Electrical PE licensure in California

Benefits

Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. The expected compensation range for this position is $156,464.00 - $223,520.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
