Onsite: Gulf Breeze, FL Co-op from July - December 2027 Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Electrical Engineering Co-Op to join our collaborative hardware engineering team. During this hands-on opportunity, you’ll gain experience across the full hardware development lifecycle while contributing to the design of advanced technologies used in commercial, defense, and intelligence applications. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team and gain exposure to real-world, ruggedized hardware systems. Job Responsibilities Supporting the design, development, testing, and validation of complex electrical hardware and systemsContributing to schematic design, layout support, design verification testing, system integration, and optimization of hardware designsDesigning and testing complex circuits or sub-modules using schematic capture tools such as Allegro Design Entry HDL and/or Mentor toolsCollaborating with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Software, and ProcurementSupporting design-for-manufacturing (DFM), design-for-assembly (DFA), and design-for-test (DFT) initiativesAssisting with lab activities including board bring-up, debugging, validation testing, and environmental testing (EMC, thermal, power, ESS)Supporting production by investigating manufacturing issues and field failuresDrafting test plans, reports, Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and technical documentationSupporting prototype material procurement, structuring Bills of Material (BoMs), and managing part listsAssisting with the design of fixtures to support advanced manufacturing techniques "This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens." Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical disciplineA minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review processBasic understanding of high-speed digital and analog circuitry, power management, and electromagnetic interferenceFamiliarity with electronic schematic design tools such as Allegro Design Entry HDL or Mentor Graphics toolsGeneral knowledge of manufacturing techniques and hardware development processesExperience or familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and soldering/rework toolsStrong organizational skills with clear verbal and written communication abilitiesProficiency with standard documentation and presentation toolsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment Preferred Qualifications Prior electrical engineering internship or co-op experience , Fulltime Equivalent Job Grade Salary Range for this position: $17.00 - 38.00/hour, Mercury considers a variety of factors to determine individual base salary offers to candidates, including: the role and related responsibilities; prior work experience; education, training, skills and certifications; internal equity with others employed by Mercury in similar roles; geographic location; and alignment with market data.
