Overview

Perform engineering work using extensive knowledge and experience in evaluating, selecting, modifying, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for electrical systems of varying size and the highest complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Preliminary design, budgetary estimating, and scheduling.
  • Detail design, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Equipment specification, proposal evaluation and requisitioning.
  • Engineering calculations to assure safety and performance of equipment and systems.
  • Select and apply appropriate engineering matters, equipment, and systems.
  • Interdisciplinary interface for constructability and conformance to project requirements.
  • Coordinate design engineering and equipment delivery to meet construction schedules.
  • Acquire on-site measurements and other data to accomplish the design or enable the evaluation of equipment performance.
  • Check completed jobs for quality, adequacy of design, and documentation.
  • Monitor construction of various electrical systems as assigned to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Activities may include, but not be limited to, monitoring construction work to assure conformance with plans and specifications, monitoring work to assure compliance with applicable engineering and construction codes and practices, monitoring construction schedules to ensure timely completion of the work, directing changes to the work when requested by the Project Engineer, carrying out programs for the testing of materials, equipment, or plant systems at the direction of the Project Engineer, aiding in evaluation and approval of contractor-s invoices, aiding in receiving, inspection, and approval of equipment and materials, acting as Project Engineer, when required, on projects of moderate to large size and complexity.
  • Perform complex studies and economic analyses of engineering alternatives.
  • Prepare reports and feasibility studies for submission to Management.
  • Provide budget and schedule information to the Project Manager and Management.
  • Serve as Project Engineer on assigned projects.
  • Provide expertise in the Company's design, construction, QA/QC, and safety standards and the Company document control system.
  • Be recognized as an expert in and applying Standards, both National and Local.
  • Shall promote complete and accurate record keeping and be responsible for the quality of all work performed.
  • Shall keep informed of current developments in the areas of responsibility.
  • Lead in the professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel.
  • May be required to travel to support work.

Qualifications

  • Engineer V (Principal Engineer) or the equivalent with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of appropriate experience in the designated engineering field.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited engineering program or the equivalent amount of experience in the designated engineering field.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering License is required.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
