Electrical Engineer - Technical Services
About the role
This role is responsible to:
- Support and direction of maintenance technicians in repair of equipment.
- Optimization of production equipment and automation.
- Hardwire design, programming, and commissioning of automation systems and production equipment.
- Use of CAD, PLC, HMI, vision, motion, and robotics software for machine support, design, and commissioning.
- Specification and procurement of hardware and equipment.
- Design and evaluation of safety systems.
- Installation of production equipment and automation including direction of resources.
- Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Plan and direct engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing products or systems.
- Directs and coordinate fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
- Evaluate field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Provide supervision of 2-10 internal skilled trades labor and external contractors. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, and appraising performance. Assists in interviewing and recommending hiring of new job candidates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university majoring in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- One to Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Applicant should be knowledgeable in the areas of industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC machine controls, robotics, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement techniques
