About the role

Engineer Level 4: A fully competent engineer in the subject matter or the functional areas of the assignments. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Create innovative approaches to problems. Requires professional experience to assure competence as a professional. Independently performs assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval for projects. Includes responsibilities and tasks outlined in Engineer Levels 1 – 3.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design tasks assigned by Lead or Supervising Engineers; report weekly progress and provide estimates for task completion.
  • Create complete construction documents, including drawings and specifications/documentation, point-to-point schedules, control diagrams, power studies on hyperscale data centers, conductor heat calculations, and construction support.
  • Coverge design with equipment submittals.
  • Reviews design and follows QAQC processes through the design and construction phases.
  • Technical resource to other Engineers, Designers, Estimators and Project Managers.
  • Responsible for design coordination with the project manager so that design documents meet project scope requirements.
  • Perform engineering calculations and complex, hyper-scale, data center power studies.
  • Attend internal and external meetings - architect, MEP, GC, project manager, and owner’s SME coordination.
  • Complete assignments on schedule.
  • Maintain technical development goals and continuing education credits.
  • Mentor Designers in technical subject areas.
  • Obtain Professional Development and Training.

Requirements

  • Basic Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT, ETAP/SKM.
  • Good time-management, communication, and people skills.

Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
  • Education: Electrical Engineering or similar Bachelor of Science degree.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Professional Engineer's license State of California.
  • Experience: 3-5 years working for an electrical design firm or design-build electrical contractor.

Skills

Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Some barriers to entry exist at this level (e.g., dept/peer review).
