Electrical Engineer - PE

About the role

The Electrical Engineer, PE will lead the design, development, and implementation of integrated electrical systems. This role involves providing innovative solutions to engineering challenges, supervising projects, and ensuring designs comply with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement integrated electrical systems from scratch.
• Perform electrical calculations, including load analysis, breaker sizing, conduit and wire sizing, voltage drop, and fault current.
• Conduct hazard analysis and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable safety and regulatory standards.
• Create electrical design drawings, installation procedures, and engineering reports.
• Oversee work of Electrical Designers, including drawings such as single-line diagrams, panel schedules, power plans, lighting plans, and installation details.
• Review design drawings, specifications, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Aid in the evaluation of designs to meet operational and cost-effectiveness goals.
• Ensure electrical designs comply with local codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Research and specify commercially available equipment to meet project requirements for electrical systems.
• Interact with clients to understand project needs and address design issues or changes.
• Help manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery.
• Stay updated with industry trends and provide suggestions to improve design processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or EIT with ability to obtain PE within 6 months.
• Proficiency in electrical design software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in electrical analysis software, such as EasyPower, SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in lighting analysis software, such as ElumTools, Agi-32 or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and design principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software platforms.
• Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgment.
• Ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
