About the role

As an Electrical Engineer II/III, you’ll manage complex projects that directly impact operations. You’ll apply your expertise to design solutions, troubleshoot issues, and drive innovation. You’ll lead small teams, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver clear presentations to stakeholders, balancing technical depth with project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities.
  • Promote integration of advanced technologies—including automation, real‑time monitoring, and energy storage—to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs.
  • Implement robust safety measures such as arc‑flash mitigation and fault‑detection systems to protect personnel and ensure infrastructure reliability.
  • Provide technical expertise in power distribution, electrical schematics, and system layouts for new construction and upgrades to existing facilities.
  • Participate in complex engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across electrical systems and project execution.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of engineering experience in natural gas, data centers, or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of reviewing arc‑flash studies and implementing improvements.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with safety as a primary priority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general PC skills.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience in Preliminary‑Front End Engineering Design (Pre‑FEED), Front End Engineering Design (FEED), or Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC) of small‑ to medium‑size facility projects.
  • Support in designing and implementing instrumentation systems, including PLCs and Human‑Machine Interface (HMI) systems.

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge in power system design, analysis, and simulation (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink, or similar tools).
  • Familiarity with high‑voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear.
  • Understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems.
  • Experience supporting procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials, with established industry contacts for reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Experience participating in commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with design specifications.
  • May direct work of other engineers and/or support staff; assignments typically involve specialized engineering functions, technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities, upgrades to existing facilities, and research on new developments.
