About the role
Collins Aerospace designs, integrates, and certifies commercial avionics products for the Air Transport and Business and Regional aircraft markets. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer II who is passionate about analog, digital, and RF circuit design and eager to influence both legacy and next-generation CNS transceiver products.
Responsibilities
- Provide design and engineering support for CNS sustainment products, with opportunities to contribute to new product development.
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams—including power, digital, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing—to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage component obsolescence identification and mitigation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and process issues down to circuit card assembly (CCA)/Module and component levels to include analog/digital/RF/power circuitry and interfaces.
- Support transition-to-production activities and provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for production teams.
- Perform schematic capture and design documentation.
- Investigate failure trends for root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Present technical information clearly and effectively through strong communication skills.
- Manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines with self-motivation and organization.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
- A U.S. Person is required - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly).
Qualifications
- Proficiency in electrical engineering fundamentals including troubleshooting, analysis, and test.
- Hands-on experience with engineering tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.
- Experience with schematic capture tools and the ability to interpret complex schematics.
- Proven ability to lead or influence technical efforts within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated success working in collaborative team environments.
Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify creative, technically sound solutions to complex challenges.
- Experience developing technical proposals and delivering formal technical presentations.
