Electrical Engineer II

Volt is hiring an Electrical Controls Specialist in Lexington, KY for a full-time, contract opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide controls and technical support for various shift production including fabrication, metal finishing, and assembly through troubleshooting and determining root causes for downtime events.
• Identify and eliminate production barriers for various levels of automation including stamping presses, welders, conveyors, automated assembly, and robotics.
• Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including robotics, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, pneumatic/hydraulic distribution.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance on existing machine control modifications or installations.
• Create, maintain, and keep current all documentation: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics; panel layouts; PLC, operator display, operator interface, and robot programs.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-year college degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in the electrical field.
• Open to working 2nd shift and weekends.
• Experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong PLC programming skills.
• Electrical/Mechanical CAD experience.
• Motion control, robot programming, or machine vision experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday (1st Shift)

Pay

$40–$45 per hour. Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, and certifications.
