About the role
This is an in-office position for hire at Inspired Flight’s HQ in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Responsibilities
- Design of electrical schematics and interconnects
- Design of electrical cable harnesses, circuit boards, and firmware
- Tuning of aircraft parameters to improve flight performance
- Performing test flights aircraft to validate designs
- Implementing design best practices such as design for manufacturability and testability
Requirements
- Strong understanding of circuit design and PCB layouts utilizing tools such as Altium
- Familiarity with drone flight control systems (PX4 or Ardupilot) and/or robotic autonomy technologies
- Familiarity with 3D printers, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and other development tools and equipment
- Experience with hardware and software product design cycles
- UAV Pilot experience and/or a FAA Part 107 License
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline is required
- 1-5 Years experience in a related field
- Experience preferably in the following industries: UAS, aviation, aerospace, defense sector
Skills
- Tuning of flight control algorithms including PIDs and sensor filters
- Understanding of circuit design and PCB layouts utilizing tools such as Altium
- Familiarity with drone flight control systems (PX4 or Ardupilot)
- Familiarity with 3D printers, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and other development tools and equipment
- Experience with hardware and software product design cycles
- UAV Pilot experience and/or a FAA Part 107 License
