This posting is for a Mechatronics Engineering design, development, and leadership role within the Mechatronics Engineering HMI development team. The role focuses on developing advanced vehicle components, wiring, power distribution, and control systems, while managing mechatronics engineering projects to support production and service.

About the Role

Successful candidates will apply theoretical principles, engineering techniques, and practical experience to design vehicles that are safe, compliant, reliable, serviceable, energy-efficient, competitive, and incorporate the latest industry technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design advanced vehicle components and systems.
  • Apply theoretical principles and engineering techniques to create reliable, serviceable, energy-efficient, and competitive vehicles using the latest technology.
  • Interface with engineering personnel to determine the most effective and economic design and materials for product parts.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal departments and external suppliers during product development and testing phases.
  • Research state-of-the-art developments in the vehicle industry and apply the latest advances.
  • Use programming, modeling, and statistical techniques in conjunction with mathematical analysis for design and testing.
  • Interface with product regulation and compliance personnel to ensure vehicles meet government regulations, restrictions, and codes.
  • Collaborate with the Test and Validation team to analyze problems encountered in prototype development and testing, providing creative and technically feasible solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive Engineering from an accredited college/university, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration.
  • Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes and their downstream impacts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and releasing commercial vehicle electrical systems and controls to production.
  • Full understanding of CAN message formatting and network topology requirements for serial control and communication networks in heavy-duty vehicles (CAN).
  • Experience and understanding of medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicle electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience and understanding in automotive infotainment and instrumentation.
  • Working knowledge of CAD system electrical workbench.
  • Working knowledge of DTNA Engineering Documentation systems.
  • Working 3D design experience.

Pay

Starting salary range of $86,000 – $110,000 USD, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

Schedule

This is an onsite position located in Gaffney, SC, US. Relocation assistance is not available.

This position is not open for visa sponsorship or to existing visa holders. Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application. Final candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check and may be required to complete a pre-employment drug screen.
