Electrical Engineer II

What You Will Do
- Provide technical advice and guidance for assigned electrical engineering projects.
- Aid Senior Engineer in developing Electrical Engineering projects using new technology to enhance site safety, efficiency, cost control, quality control, and environmental protection.
- Review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.
- Manage small to medium site construction, expansion, or modification projects, and assist the Senior Engineer on larger/complex site planning, construction, expansion, or modifications.
- Administer contracts with vendors for service and equipment provision.
- Develop a working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations relevant to your area of assignment.
- Aid the Senior Engineer in strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.
- Evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
- Represent the site on company-sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering discipline with 3 years of related experience, or Master's degree with 2 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles and practices, including Mechanical and Process Engineering techniques.
- Ability to research and analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions.
- Skills in safety practices, hazard recognition, effective communication (both oral and written).
- Familiarity and experience with Electronics, PLCs, and Control Systems.
- Experience in managing small to medium Engineering projects.
- Knowledge and experience in power systems engineering, including equipment design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical/industrial power systems.
- Experience in power systems studies, such as load flow, short circuit, coordination, and Arc flash study and mitigation.
- Experience in designing process automation systems, including instrumentation and control narrative, PLC programming (preferably Allen Bradley PLCs), P&ID drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Visio and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification.
- Knowledge and experience in power systems engineering, including equipment design and specification, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical/industrial power systems.
- Knowledge and experience in power systems studies, such as load flow, short circuit, coordination, and Arc flash study and mitigation.
- Experience in designing process automation systems, including experience in producing instrumentation and control narrative, PLC programming (preferred Allen Bradley PLCs), P&ID drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Visio and Excel.
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $93,000-$127,500. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
