The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) focuses on product producibility and mission assurance, serving as a vital link in the integrated product development process. As an Electrical Engineer, you will participate in multi-discipline teams supporting primarily military programs through the application of electrical engineering resources and design processes. You will contribute to the design, analysis, and support of electronics products in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Support EO/IR, digital, analog, sustaining, and production electronics, including components engineering and product development.
- Engage in digital, analog, FPGA/VHDL programming, ASIC support, and production electronics engineering.
- Design transistor-level analog and EO/IR integrated circuits using modern semiconductor technologies.
- Participate in detailed circuit design and configurable digital logic development using VHDL.
- Conduct functional analysis and verification testing.
- Troubleshoot and provide root cause and corrective action for design and process issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field (obtained prior to start date).
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued DoD Secret security clearance (active clearance required after day one).
- Experience documenting test results and repair recommendations.
- Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Ability to read drawings and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of Ethernet, UDP, and 1588 protocols.
- Working knowledge of EE lab equipment (e.g., Vector Network Analyzers, Power Meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, signal sources).
- Familiarity with design tools such as Matlab, LabVIEW, Keysight ADS, Genesys, PSPICE, Ansys HFSS, AutoCAD, Mentor Graphics Design Architect, Mentor Expedition Design & Analysis Tool Suite, and/or DX Designer for PWB schematic capture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in VHDL and Verilog.
- Experience with ModelSim / QuestaSim.
- Strong TCL scripting capability.
- Experience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado or equivalent).
- Familiarity with Git or equivalent version control systems.
- Experience with simulation-based verification.
- Exposure to JIRA or similar issue tracking methodologies.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, including HDL generation workflows and FPGA toolchain integration.
- Experience supporting integration and test activities in a lab environment.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $57,200 – $108,800 USD. The final offer considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
