About the role
Engage with clients to evaluate their energy needs, develop concept-level plans and solutions, and take these through detailed design to full execution. Offer a true “end to end” life-cycle service from exploration, development, operation, and repowering/retirement.
Responsibilities
- Provide feasibility studies, construction documents, and construction oversight for energy projects.
- Develop design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Communicate effectively and solve complex engineering problems.
- Explore innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable energy projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- At least 4 years of design/consulting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work independently with minor supervision once given guidance by lead engineer.
Qualifications
- Professional Registration as an Engineer (PE) OR the ability to obtain within 1 year, preferred.
- Power system modeling experience using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar modeling software.
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, CADWorx, and NavisWorks.
- Knowledge of power distribution systems and microgrids.
- Experience with power generation projects exceeding 10MW capacity.
- Experience with HV or MV substations.
- Experience with renewable energy projects including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, and other technologies.
- Experience with energy storage systems.
- Experience with protection and control, SCADA, or power system automation.
- Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning.
- Experience with cogeneration or combined heat and power systems.
- Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water).

Pay
$116,400.00 to $203,600.00
Schedule
Hybrid working policy allowing split work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
