About the role

Engage with clients to evaluate energy needs, develop concept-level plans and solutions, and oversee detailed design for energy projects. Provide feasibility studies, construction documents, and construction oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Communicate effectively and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Explore innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable energy projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • At least 4 years of design/consulting experience in HV or MV substations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop design calculations, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minor supervision.

Qualifications

  • Professional Registration as an Electrical Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain within 1 year, preferred.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, CADWorx, and NavisWorks.
  • Power system modeling experience using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems and microgrids.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects including wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, and other technologies.
  • Experience with energy storage systems.
  • Experience with protection and control, SCADA, or power system automation.
  • Experience with campus utility master planning or decarbonization/climate response planning.
  • Experience with cogeneration or combined heat and power systems.
  • Experience with thermal utility plants and distribution systems (steam, hot water, chilled water).

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $116,400.00 to $203,600.00. Individual pay determined by work location and additional factors.

Schedule

Our hybrid working policy allows employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations.
