Electrical Engineer (all levels)
About the role
The role involves architecting, developing, and refining the electrical systems that integrate advanced computing hardware, sensing, and power systems. Key responsibilities include defining the architecture and selecting components for a complex embedded system, working on detailed designs of main logic, interconnect, power, RF, and sensing systems, integrating sophisticated cameras and imaging electronics, incorporating Design for Manufacturing (DFM) considerations, creating and executing a validation plan, and addressing reliability, yield, and performance issues.
Responsibilities
- Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electro-mechanical and optical system
- Work and direct others through detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing systems around a mobile SOC
- Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations on the way to high-quality mass production
- Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics
- Solve related reliability, yield, and performance issues through development and into production
Requirements
Experience shipping high-volume consumer electronic products in a senior or architect-level role, Mobile SoC design, High speed digital design, Connected products (WiFi, cellular), Troubleshooting EMI/RF problems, Familiar with scripting/programming in Python/C, Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.
