Electrical Engineer 1

About the role

Collins Aerospace is seeking an entry level Electrical (FPGA) Engineer 1 to support requirements capture and FPGA digital architecture, implement FPGA digital design using RTL, and support verification and system integration of FPGA implementations. You will work with an experienced team to learn best practices and Collins' engineering processes for implementing world class FPGA solutions, and gain exposure to cutting edge technologies developed both in house and by external vendors, including how ASICs and FPGAs are used in communications, security, and space-based products.

Qualifications you must have

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date
• Experience or familiarity with RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, team with engineers of a variety of skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Qualifications we prefer

• Experience using FPGA design tools (e.g. Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado)
• Programming experience with C, MATLAB, and scripting languages
• Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion)
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
• Technical experience through prior internships
• Prior leadership experience
• Strong interest in the firmware design process
