Electrical/Electronic Technician IV

About the role

The Electrical/Electronic Technician shall assemble experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype models using engineering instruction, technical manuals, and knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and components and their functions. The Electrical/Electronic Technician shall set up standard test apparatus or conceive test equipment and circuitry, and conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototype or production models. The Electrical/Electronic Technician shall analyze and interpret test data. The Electrical/Electronic Technician shall adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and record unit performance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype models using engineering instruction, technical manuals, and knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and components and their functions.
• Set up standard test apparatus or conceive test equipment and circuitry, and conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototype or production models.
• Analyze and interpret test data.
• Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and record unit performance.
• Repair and maintain semiconductor specific equipment that includes troubleshooting, calibration and interfacing with facility team.
• Design and build test setups for detector testing.
• Operate and perform routine maintenance of test equipment which includes temperature controller, temperature monitors, integrating sphere, spectrum analyzer, function generators, monochromator, black body source, controllers, vacuum pump, cryo-cooler and other lab equipment.
• Perform mechanical or software troubleshooting to determine problems in nonfunctioning equipment.
• Manage facility/equipment outages, coordinate with affected users and on-site facility group.

Requirements

The Electrical/Electronic Technician IV shall have up to 11 years of experience respectively in aerospace flight/ground support equipment assembly and evaluation. Repair and maintenance of semiconductor specific equipment that includes troubleshooting, calibration and interfacing with facility team. Designing and building of test set ups for detector testing. Operation and routine maintenance of test equipment which includes temperature controller, temperature monitors, integrating sphere, spectrum analyzer, function generators, monochromator, black body source, controllers, vacuum pump, cryo-cooler and other lab equipment. Perform mechanical or software troubleshooting to determine problems in nonfunctioning equipment. Manage facility/equipment outages, coordinate with affected users and on-site facility group.

Qualifications

The Electrical/Electronic Technician shall be a technician school graduate, or have equivalent education in a different field and experience. Familiarity with labs and sensitive equipment's. Familiarity with Detector Technology. Familiarity with lab inventor and ordering lab consumables.
