Electrical Technician IV

About the role

This is an invitation to collaborate and apply your craft to the reliability and maintenance of manufacturing assets and electrical equipment. The successful candidate will provide input for our electrical infrastructure program, lead predictive programs, and maintain secondary unit substations across the campus. An understanding and application of the NEC, NFPA 70B, and NFPA 70E will support our long-term reliability goals. Strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt in dynamic situations are required to problem-solve and determine corrective actions in real time. This position may require occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Strategies: Partner with maintenance and operations groups to create maintenance strategies using FMEAs, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices. Create bills of materials for equipment and determine stock quantities. Assess equipment criticality and provide input on CMMS equipment structure.
• Predictive Technologies: Drive Kohler Co. to world-class maintenance status by developing and implementing innovative reliability practices. Interpret and trend maintenance test results for electrical distribution equipment and recommend corrective actions. Utilize predictive tools and technologies to improve asset reliability. Lead smart factory initiatives by implementing and improving continuous monitoring systems.
• Electrical Distribution Equipment Maintenance: Manage strategic maintenance of electrical distribution equipment such as busways, cables, circuit breakers, metering, panelboards, relays, switchboards, switchgear, and transformers. Mentor junior electricians to reduce induced failures and improve reliability. Analyze maintenance techniques and work with teams to improve programs, including dissolved gas analysis (DGA), oil analysis, infrared scanning, partial discharge analysis, and unit substation maintenance. Respond to electrical emergencies and lead recovery efforts.
• Design for Reliability and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with project engineers on the selection and implementation of new electrical distribution equipment. Provide input and improve the condition assessment ranking system that drives the capital plan for equipment replacement. Develop standards and procedures for maintenance processes.

Requirements

• Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, or Lineman program completion required.
• Associate of Science degree in Electrical Technology, Engineering Automation, or similar field preferred.
• Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) certificate preferred.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with electrical distribution equipment and CMMS (SAP knowledge desired).
• Competent use of Microsoft Office products.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $36.05 - $54.05. The specific hourly rate offered may be influenced by factors such as education and work location.
