About the role
The Electrical Designer II at ENFRA performs technical activities on assigned projects under supervision of a licensed professional engineer, assisting the project team in producing high-quality projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities include designing and preparing drawings for electrical systems, attending meetings, conducting site surveys, coordinating with other disciplines, and monitoring construction progress.
Responsibilities
- Designs and prepares drawings for electrical systems for building projects including code review, lighting calculations, lighting and receptacle layout, one-line diagrams, branch circuit, feeder, and service calculations, etc., under the supervision of a licensed professional electrical engineer.
- Attends meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed; Prepares and distributes meeting notes.
- Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions or proposed conditions.
- Aids the design team in the coordination with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, civil, etc.
- Accompanies senior level staff/project manager in performing project site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes.
- Assists in preparing punch lists and project observations reports to note findings.
- Participates in in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas.
- Attends industry organizations and events, meetings, and activities.
- Upholds TME's owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.
Qualifications
- Required: 2-year Technical Degree or Associates Degree in Electrical-Related Field, or 4 - 5 years of experience as an electrical designer for an engineering or architectural/engineering design firm, or Electrical Program / Course / Classes at a Community College, plus 2-4 years' experience as an electrician working for an Electrical Contractor, or Journeyman Electrician License.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Revit, and AutoCAD.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Well versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of scope of work when necessary.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, experience with larger commercial projects including healthcare, higher education, laboratory, and central energy plant projects.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and/or poles.
- Climbing stairs.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Operating machinery and/or power tools.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation, heat, cold, and/or wind.
- Noisy environment.
- Light to heavy work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects from 20-100 pounds.
Pay Range
USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Hr.
