Job Summary

This role is for a Designer/Engineer in Training who will learn the foundational aspects of designing electrical systems. The candidate should be capable of working independently under the guidance of the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of design and CAD applications.
• Gain an understanding of the construction process.
• Assist in developing schematic design information, such as equipment selections, room sizes, and space requirements.
• Research equipment selections and prepare equipment schedules under the direction of the project team.
• Research design options and document findings for the project team.
• Incorporate design concepts from schematic design into design development.
• Work towards producing construction documents.
• Document existing conditions.
• Lay out portions of electrical systems for the project.
• Learn and assist in the production of calculations such as building energy calculations, technology system capacities, lighting and power distribution calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Provide drafting and documentation for projects, including implementing sketches and design concepts from others.
• Encourage problem-solving using experience, judgment, and education.
• Understand and assist in coordinating ceiling, wall clearances, and structural impacts with the design team and other professionals.
• Aid in drafting specialized diagrams such as plumbing isometrics or electrical risers.
• Assist in gathering specification sections.
• Help assemble details with guidance from the Project Team that will be used on projects.

You Will Need to Have

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited university or college.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Proficiency in current technology, including hardware and software applications.

• Understanding of how to effectively use Revit and/or AutoCAD.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $65,900 - $76,100 annually. Individual employee compensation is determined based on various factors including experience, education, knowledge, skills, location, and performance. Some positions may also offer additional forms of compensation such as annual incentives.
