About the role

This role involves performing assignments that require judgment in evaluating, selecting, and modifying electrical engineering techniques and procedures. You will work directly with clients to develop recommendations, review electrical documents for conflicts with other disciplines, write and edit electrical specifications, select equipment and devices, perform contract administration tasks, and supervise work of Electrical CAD Technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of electrical engineering techniques and procedures
  • Work directly with owners to develop recommendations
  • Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
  • Write/edit electrical specifications, select equipment and electrical devices
  • Take on contract administration responsibilities requiring field inspections and conflict resolution
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering features as needed
  • Function as a Project Manager on small and mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not the principal focus of position
  • Supervise work of Electrical CAD Technicians and coordinate design of assigned projects with architectural staff and other engineering disciplines as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering consulting firm is strongly preferred
  • Data center/mission-critical project experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with electrical devices and circuits, control schematics, electrical diagrams, electrical systems theory
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, and familiarity or willingness to learn electrical design software
  • Experience with AutoDesk software including Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • Candidates living near the Boise, Idaho area are preferred
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • EIT certification strongly preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
  • Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Skills

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
