Responsibilities
- Designing and drafting electrical systems for industrial and commercial buildings, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and security systems.
- Performing complex electrical calculations such as load balancing, voltage drop, and sub-bank calculations.
- Designing and specifying electrical conduits, wiring, and other components in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other project team members to integrate electrical systems into overall building design.
- Reviewing and revising designs and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinating with contractors and suppliers to ensure the correct installation and operation of electrical systems.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems during construction and post-occupancy phases.
- Continually updating knowledge of new technologies and industry trends to ensure our designs are cutting-edge and sustainable.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design and drafting, specifically in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using CAD software for electrical design and drafting.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC Code and other relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with designing electrical systems for high performance buildings.
- Familiarity with plumbing and mechanical systems, as they relate to electrical design.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to perform complex electrical calculations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues before they arise.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Pay
$80,000 - $130,000 per year
